Description
[Following is an excerpt from the Wenatchee Valley Museum on The Legend of Saddle Rock.] The Wenatchi-P’squosa Indians know the place as where Black Bear and Grizzly Bear once engaged in a battle over their husband.] When you view this rock formation from ground level it does look the profile of two bears facing off. This is one of my favorite hikes in the Wenatchee Valley, this view is looking north as the Columbia meanders to Wenatchee on the left, East Wenatchee to the right. When the Missoula Flood shaped this land, it was estimated the water level reached the darker hillside (note the top of that hill is behind the bush) to the right of the bridge in the center of the image.
